QUESTIONS

About our valuations

How is this different from an estate agent's valuation?

An estate agent's appraisal is a free opinion of the price a home might achieve on the market. An RICS valuation is an independent report prepared by a qualified valuer to RICS professional standards, which you can rely on for legal, tax and financial purposes.

Can both parties instruct you jointly?

Yes. For matrimonial and other disputes, a joint instruction gives both parties one impartial valuation.

Can you value a property at a past date?

Yes. A retrospective valuation gives the value at a specific date in the past, such as the date of death for probate or the date of disposal for capital gains tax.
